Touch comes to iPod! Introducing the new iPod Touch, 8 & 16 GB

At the Mac World expo, Uncle Steve Jobs announced two ‘new’ products.

A new version of iPod NANO, that plays Video. This is a neat feature, but considering the fact that iPod NANOs have been a major hit in India, wonder how many Indians would upgrade, but then gain, since when did Apple target Indian customers?

Apple has a product line, which enjoys cult status. Also a lot of these products are buffet-like offerings. Without the iTunes and Apple TV, Apple is not really keen on pushing iPods here.

May be iPod Nano, Shuffle, and the Mac Mini are products meant for lower segment, and hence being sold (read dumped) in India

Inspite of billions of people here, India has not been a major target as it misses out on various factors.

Not enough matured netizens. A lot of people think that the iPod cannot play any mp3s except from the ones bought from iTunes! (lolz i have a near full

People not matured for using iTunes (read over matured and unwilling to pay and over and above that have good Pirating skiils! )

As usual people will vent out their frustration in owning a product that was ‘new’ until yesterday, and all of a sudden is a just another old outdated iPod!

The iPod touch….. This is nothing but a messed up iPhone.

Has all the features of the iPhone minus the Phone. I predict this to be a killer product, especially considering people were willing to buy iPhones and hack it to be used only as an iPod!

The iPod touch comes in two variants. An 8GB and an 16GB model, exactly like the iPhone!
